Pink Beach Komodo Island is a unique beach that has stunning pink sand. This beach is named after “Pink Beach“. This beach is situated within Komodo National Park, East Nusa Tenggara. Pink Beach is one of only 7 pink sandy beaches in the world. The only pink beach available is Pink Beach on Harbor Island, Bahamas; Bermuda; Santa Cruz Island, Philippines; Sardinia, Italy; Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean Island; and in Balos Lagoon, Crete, Greece. How wealthy and wonderful Indonesia’s nature is; one among seven pink sandy beaches may also be discovered in the country.

Until now, it is not identified precisely where the origin of this beautiful pink sand color is from. Some argue that the pink color comes from the shards of dead red coral and indeed found on this beach. Another opinion mentions the pink color on the sand of Pink Beach is due to the presence of microscopic animals named foraminifera that produces a shiny pink or purple color on coral reefs.
